Throat Metal Detector

Sensitivity of metal detector is an ability to accurately detect metal contaminants of different sizes and types. The higher the accuracy of the metal detector, the smaller the volume of irregular pollutants it detects. It is an important factor for judging the quality of the metal detector.
There many factors affect metal detection sensitivity factors
Contaminant material type
The type of metal is a very important factor. Different metals have different magnetism, so the conductivity is also different. The greater the magnetism, the stronger the conductivity. Non-ferrous metals are easier to locate than ferrous metals.
Shape and orientation
The sensitivity of metal detectors is also affected by the shape and orientation of metal contaminants. Conductive products are spherical when pass tester. They provide equal permeability from all angles according to the shape of the metal. Strips may not be easily detected.
Detect aperture size and position
The smaller the aperture of the aperture, the higher the sensitivity of metal detection, and the products on the conveyor belt must be positioned by the aperture.
Packaging Materials
Some packaging materials are magnetic and conductive, which will also affect the sensitivity. For example, stainless steel containers, packaging contain aluminum , they will interfere metal detectors, making it difficult to locate contamination , so these package are suitable for testing before packaging.
Product Material
When the food contains conductive characteristics, it will also affect the sensitivity of the metal detector. For example, meat, cheese, bakery, etc. with high salt content or water content, we call that “ product effects”.
Frequency
Metal detectors use different levels of frequency to detect different contanminats . Dry items are suitable for high frequencies, while wet items require multiple high and low frequencies to be set at the same time. A single fixed frequency metal detector has high sensitivity, but applicable is small. Multi-frequency metal detectors have wide application but low sensitivity.
Working environment
The working environment of the metal detector will also affect the sensitivity. For example, the sensitivity of working in a high temperature and humid environment is definitely not as good as that of a dry environment.
